A primeira delas veio em 1984, com Bjorn Waldergard e Hans Thorszelius, que pilotavam um Toyota Celica TCT, mesmo carro com que a fabricante triunfou em 1985 e 1986. O time ainda venceria o Rally Safari em 1990, 1992, 1993, 1994 e 1995, sendo a \u00faltima v\u00e1lida pelo 2LWC, o 2-Litre World Cup.<\/p>\n<p>A prova retornou ao calend\u00e1rio do WRC em 2021, e desde ent\u00e3o o que se v\u00ea \u00e9 o dom\u00ednio completo no rali realizado no Qu\u00eania. Neste per\u00edodo, S\u00e9bastien Ogier e Kalle Rovanpera s\u00e3o os maiores vencedores da prova, com dois triunfos. O franc\u00eas venceu em 2021 com Julien Ingrassia e em 2023 com Vincent Landais, enquanto o finland\u00eas triunfou em 2022 e 2024, sempre ao lado de Jonne Halttunen. Em 2025, Elfyn Evans e Scott Martin foram os ganhadores.<\/p>\n<p>Entre os vencedores do Rally Safari pela TOYOTA GAZOO Racing, destacam-se nomes como Carlos Sainz, Joha Kankkunen, atual chefe de equipe da fabricante no WRC, e a dupla formada por Ian Duncan e David Williamson, quenianos que puderam vencer a prova em seu pa\u00eds natal.<\/p>\n<p>Nesta edi\u00e7\u00e3o, a TOYOTA GAZOO Racing disputar\u00e1 o Rally Safari com cinco carros, pilotados por Elfyn Evans, S\u00e9bastien Ogier, Oliver Solberg, Takamoto Katsuta e Sami Pajari. No campeonato deste ano do WRC, a fabricante venceu as duas etapas disputadas at\u00e9 agora: Solberg venceu em Monte Carlo, enquanto Evans triunfou na Su\u00e9cia.<\/p>\n<p>As primeiras especiais do Rally Safari ser\u00e3o disputadas nesta quinta-feira, e a prova segue at\u00e9 o domingo, quando ocorre o Power Stage.
